Of all the visions that had passed it was the only one that did not fit with any period of his life. So he was sure it was the only one that might possibly be true. David wanted to see it again to be sure. But he found he had no control over the visions. The light shrunk back to its candle strength and flickered before him. Teased him by, fading out only to spring back in all its elemental vibrancy.
David remembered how it started all those years ago. So he concentrated on the light, the more he drew his attention to it, the bigger it grew. A white screen, night in snow cover. David knew he had never seen snow up close before. Only from a distance as it crowned a mountain. His father told him it was cold and thick. As he stared at it now, he could make our some markings in the snow. Lions paws? It was some four-legged animal. He tried to feel the imprint with his eyes but just as he was making it part of his permanent memory it changed shapes again.
